The project will involve: Selection of sites based on information provided in this expression of interest Visiting suitable sites, with GGE, Warragul, Narracan or Strzelecki burrowing crayfish colonies identified and mapped by an expert Identification and implementation of on ground works to protect these species (this may include fencing and planting with modified designs) and a simple management plan provided Discussion with the landholder to agree on actions and a simple management plan and agreement developed Please see checklist to determine if you think it is likely that you have any of these species on your property and are interested in becoming involved in this project. A modified approach has been developed which involves planting low water usage plants such as tussock grass species. Revegetation projects provide challenges for GGE conservation as GGE colonies require sufficient soil moisture all year round to survive.
